My name is Céline Deschamps, I’m from France and live in a village about 60 km from Lyon. I’m 46. I’m currently working in the Marketing Communications department at Heras Mobile. I began my career at Heras Mobile as a sales assistant about 20 years ago.
I applied for a vacancy in the newspaper that said: Startup, east of Lyon is looking for a sales assistant. My job at the time was about a one-hour drive from home and I was looking for something closer. During my first interview in Lyon I discovered that the company was only a 5 minute drive from my home.
Wonder Woman! And when I think about it, with my full-time job, 2 children, good social life and club activities, super hero is rather an appropriate description.
When I began there were just three of us: one accountant, one account manager and one sales assistant. We opened the office in France in January 2000. Everything had to be done from scratch. Even the ERP system was new. The parent company was in the Netherlands. Even so, we could still depend on our Dutch colleagues for support. We had to manage everything ourselves. It was a good way to learn about taking the initiative, being autonomous and it felt as if we were setting up our own company. Later, as the company grew, we were joined by new colleagues. Being the oldest, I’ve become a sort of living office relic. The Mrs “FAQ" of the office, you could say. After being a Sales Assistant I moved on to Marketing.
‘’My colleagues see me as a serious person who doesn’t take herself too seriously and someone they can rely on.’’
I start my working day by checking my mailbox and I set myself at least 3 tasks to complete that day. Sometimes, with all the things that come in between, it’s difficult to complete these tasks but, at the end of the day, it’s always satisfying when you achieve what you had planned.
I have so many good memories. That’s normal after 20 years, but the best moments are still when we all meet up at head office. We usually have lots of fun with all kinds of surprises.
‘’The week always flies by. I never get bored, there’s always something to do.’’
I love my work, enjoy learning new things, I’m conscious of my strengths and weaknesses, I’m always honest, and I’m flexible and adaptable. I enjoy helping my customers and colleagues.
I grew up in a restaurant. Food is such a pleasure for me that it’s really easy to get excited about good food.
I don’t like dealing with disputes or quality issues. I try and resolve the problem as quickly as possible and to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
For me, Heras Mobile is: Human, honest and open.
