The Haudagain Roundabout is a major road junction in Aberdeen and it is currently operating over its capacity. This causes significant queues and delays to traffic on the approach roads. The Haudagain Improvement scheme will identify potential options to alleviate the traffic congestion problem and deliver the preferred option.
Farrans Construction
£49.5M
Farrans required us to supply 1200m worth of Hoarding with all Infills and propose a design to ensure that wind loading would not be a factor over the duration of the job.
We provided wind load testing calculations and recommended the bigfoot system with relevant blocks. The design was reviewed by their H&S team and site engineers and they agreed this was a good design and placed the order with powder coating to match their branding.
We agreed to stagger the delivery of the goods to suit the customer due to the large volumes and held their stock in our yard in Airdrie. Despite being very tight for space in the yard we delivered on their request until the order was fulfilled.
The order was worth c. £77k to the depot.
Roger Webster (Site Engineer) was the main point of contact for the order and the delivery schedule. When asked about our service over the course of the job he had this to say
“Heras have provided Farrans with an adaptable solution to hoarding our site in an urban environment where the site perimeter is frequently changing in order to accommodate our works. We can easily adjust the hoarding to suit our needs, ensuring our site is secure and as safe as possible for both our workers and the public. Heras also coated the panels to match Farrans company colours giving the site a smart and professional appearance.”
